After two home games in Boston and Houston, the Eastern and Western Conference finals teams will travel to Cleveland and Oakland respectively for game three of their best-of-seven series. History is on the side of the Celtics, as they have never lost a series when they were up LeBron James was poor in game one by his lofty standards, but scored an impressive point triple double in game two. The Cavs have seemed to be a different team at home in the playoffs and that trend will continue. Golden State took control of Game 2 early, out-scoring Cleveland by 13 points in the first half. After getting a little lucky in Game 1 of the series, the Warriors did not need any luck to win Game 2, beating the Warriors Game 3 Specials Fri, May 18, 8:
Boston key betting trends
No other player had double figures for Cleveland and J. The Warriors played better defense on James in this game and he went 12 minutes without scoring for a stretch. He and Love did their thing, but Game 2 showed those two need help and Smith and company have to step up and get it done in the scoring department. Cleveland, pretty much, needs to win Game 3 to stay alive in this series, as no team has ever come back from being down in a playoff series.
The Cavs have won their last eight home games in the playoffs this year after losing the first game of the post-season in their house. The Cavs have seemed to be a different team at home in the playoffs and that trend will continue. James will carry the team and they will not only cover the 4. The Warriors have won all four of their games facing the Cavs this season.
The Cavs need to squeeze over the line in this match to keep the series alive, and we think they will. Houston came out lethargic in game one, shooting poorly and executing even worse on the offensive end. They upped their game in game two and earned a commanding win against the out-of-sorts Warriors. The one consistent feature of this series so far has been the scoring prowess of James Harden and Kevin Durant. Durant will need some offensive help in game three, with Curry looking hampered by injury and Klay Thompson shooting poorly in game two.
Chris Paul also looked to be carrying an injury, but Eric Gordon stepped forward and scored an equal game-high 27 points off the bench. The major question ahead of this match is whether or not Houston will be able to or allowed to play their high-octane style which served them so well in game two.
They managed to trounce the Jazz in game three with a rapid-fire start. The Celtics had balance in Game 2 with every starter going for at least 11 points led by Jaylen Brown with 23 points and he also had seven boards.
He and fellow guard Terry Rozier combined for 41 points and for the Cavs to win this game and get back in the series their backcourt has to provide King James some scoring help. The Cavs were dominated inside in Game 1 being outscored by 22 points in Game 1 and in Game two they were outscored in the paint by eight points.
Boston has been more physical in the series and Cleveland has to turn that around at home. The Cavaliers beat the Celtics in the lone regular season match up at Cleveland in the first game of the season for both teams. While the Celtics are a perfect at home in the playoffs they are on the road. The Cavs will get some home cooking in this game and it will do them well, as James will get help and Cleveland will not cough up the rock so much.
